Springfield DTS has been teaching people to drive since 1962. Under current management since 1982

We have been involved with the panel of National Driver Improvement Scheme of instructors which meant liaising with local authority presenting courses to deliver practical training to further develop driving skills of those attending the courses. During the development of the National Driver Improvement Scheme we were associated with National Speed Awareness, presenting courses and delivering training.

From there, we expanded and became involved in more driving initiatives such as; Managing Occupational Road Risk, assessing company car drivers and Testing Minibus and Taxi drivers.

Danny has become a trainer for SAFED and completed ECOWILL Train-the-Trainer which allows him to pass on his years of knowledge to other instructors.

A majority of our trainers are a grade 6 DSA Fleet registered trainers and also hold NVQ/A1 Assessor awards allowing them to assess NVQ Road Passenger Vehicle Driving (RPVD), Carry Delivering Goods (CDG), and Driving Goods Vehicle (DGV), City & Guilds 7307 Certificate in Teaching Adult Learners (LEVEL 3 CTLLS) some also have completed and passed the Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment Assessment – LSIS (Learning and Skills Improvement Service).

We have worked on fleet risk assessments for a number of high profile companies throughout the country and have investigated minor incidents or accidents.

Springfield DTS is involved in training the Ministry of Defence (MOD) for car driving licence acquisition (Cat B) and also training for towing (Cat B+E) Danny is the lead trainer for the West Midlands for Category B & B+E licences.

We are involved with the Energy Saving Trust in delivering the EST approved Eco Driver Training short course, which at present is subsidised. The course is available in the UK but subsidised courses only in England.
